SERVE + IMPACT + GROW
We believe that part of our walk with Jesus includes serving one another. Serving our church as part of one of our ministry teams gives great opportunity for community, growth, and discipleship. Below you will find a collection of ministries, the name and contact of each ministry lead, and what to expect if you elect to start serving in any of these areas. These ministries are essential to a Sunday morning for our church, and we couldn’t do it without you! Thank you for your willingness to serve!

Ministry Lead: Julie Ruiz
Welcoming someone on a Sunday morning is a huge piece of someone’s experience at church. To be greeted, welcomed, and known as you walk in the door is a big deal!
A commitment would be once a month, and would include handing out bulletins, opening doors, answering questions, helping find seats, and making people feel that this is home.

Teachers are needed both downstairs and upstairs. Downstairs teachers serve with kids ages 1 through 3, and upstairs teachers serve with kids ages 4 through 5th grade. The upstairs kids classes start after worship, while the littles are in class all service long.
Teachers are given all the tools for the lesson they will teach which includes a simple Bible lesson, a craft, or a game. Due to Foursquare policy, there will always be at least 2 teachers in each class.
Our goal is that you only serve once a month, but you are always welcome to serve more if you desire.

Ministry Leads: Morgan Carter + Julie Ruiz
Our youth ministry includes students from 5th through 12th grade. Students gather on Sunday nights from 6pm - 730pm. They play games, have snacks, and talk through a lesson each night.
Leaders often fill in on occasion when Morgan or Julie have to be out, or they will assist with events and fundraisers throughout the year.

Worship is an essential piece of our Sunday morning services. Our team members receive the music on Mondays so that they have the week to practice.
Our team then practices together on Sunday mornings from 8:30-9:30 prior to service. Teams are not always the same, and you will get opportunity to play and sing with a variety of people. Serving at least once a month is the most helpful if you are able to make that commitment.

While this ministry team gets to hide in the back of the sanctuary, it can be an intimidating team to volunteer for! But do not be afraid! Our video team is equipped with training and all of the tools needed for success. On the video side of the booth, services are prepared in ProPresenter prior to Sunday morning so that serving is a breeze. If you are not sure where to serve, this is a great team to plug into!
As for our sound folks, this can be a little more tricky. However, if you are able and willing, we would love to equip and train you to run sound as well.
This team serves once a month and is on a set, rotating schedule, which makes it easy and consistent.

The upkeep and cleaning of our building and grounds is a huge, and often thankless job. Together, we get steward what God has provided as a meeting place, and serve our community via the Preschool and our friends with Casa De Dios.
If odd jobs, outdoor maintenance, or seasonal cleaning is something you are good at, we would love to add you to the team for when these items may be needed.

We believe that prayer changes things! Our prayer team meets weekly on Thursdays at 1pm at the church. Every week, prayer cards are collected from the box by the Welcome Center, and the team reaches out to those in our community who have requested prayer.
In addition, they also meet prior to service on Sunday mornings, and pray over service each week.
This is a great opportunity to serve either through the week, or just on Sunday mornings! It is very flexible, and a great way to deepen your faith and start serving.
If this is something you are interested in, please contact julie@whidbeygrace.org and she will connect you with the Prayer Team ministry lead.
Please keep in mind that we are bound by Foursquare policy, which does require background checks, forms, and training if you are going to serve with minors. Please see the link below for a copy of the background check that will need to be completed, as well as a link to the Foursquare training videos. These will need to be completed prior to you serving, however, please connect with the ministry lead first.
